Richard E. Spoonemore (J.D. University of Washington) emphasizes ERISA and state law health and disability insurance coverage, as well as general business and class action litigation. He received his law degree from the University of Washington, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board and the winner of the Falknor Appellate Competition. He graduated from Willamette University with high honors from the political science department. Mr. Spoonemore has a variety of trial and appellate experience, from arguing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to trial and motions practice before Washington State Courts and Federal District Courts in Washington, Oregon, Montana and Texas.
Mr. Spoonemore is the author of a number of articles on ERISA and securities matters. He has taught and lectured on ERISA and state law health and disability issues at the University Of Washington School Of Law, as well as before community groups, and through CLE courses for other attorneys. He is on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Great West Division
Mr. Spoonemore is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all Washington state courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Spoonemore is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington and has appeared pro hac vice in the United States District Courts of Montana, Oregon and the Southern District of Texas.
