Chris R. Youtz

Chris R. Youtz (J.D. Virginia) handles civil litigation and class actions of all types. His experience includes securities fraud litigation and arbitration, lawsuits regarding intellectual property and engineering, product liability suits and contract disputes.

Mr. Youtz received his law degree in 1977 from the University of Virginia, where he was a Dillard fellow. He obtained a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University in 1974 and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and electrical engineering from Auburn University in 1971. He was selected as one of Auburn University’s ten outstanding seniors and the outstanding Phi Kappa Tau undergraduate in the nation in 1971. He also spent three years in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant. He is the recipient of the King County Bar Association’s President’s Award for outstanding pro bono service.

Mr. Youtz practiced for five years at Bogle & Gates. He was a participant at the national session of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has conducted training seminars in depositions and trial practice. He has lectured at several seminars regarding the use of computers in litigation. He has been selected by the parties to serve as both an arbitrator and a mediator

Mr. Youtz is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all Washington state courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Youtz is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, the Northern District of California, and the Eastern District of Texas, the United States Supreme Court, and has practiced pro hac vice in federal and state courts in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, California, Arizona, Virginia, Florida, and Texas. He serves as a mediator and arbitrator under the Federal Court’s settlement program.
