Sirianni Youtz Meier & Spoonemore has been serving local and national clients since 1981. We focus on only one area of practice: business litigation.
-
We represent both plaintiffs and defendants in securities fraud litigation and disputes between partners or stockholders;
-
We prosecute and defend class actions and stockholder derivative suits;
-
We represent attorneys and law firms who are accused of malpractice, ethical violations (including over-billing and conflicts of interest), and breaches of fiduciary duty;
-
We represent plaintiffs who seek recovery from medical, disability, life or other insurance carriers;
-
We represent manufacturers in product liability litigation;
-
We represent individuals and businesses in almost all kinds of commercial, contract, real estate and intellectual property disputes;
-
We consult with clients who need assistance in avoiding or anticipating litigation.
Individuals and businesses have considered retaining us for many reasons:
-
Our commitment to the best achievable outcome. Each case is different and outcomes are always uncertain. But our results speak for themselves. As plaintiffs' counsel, we have obtained: (1) a $247 million judgment, the largest in history under Section 16(b) of the 1934 Securities Exchange Act (the short-swing stock trading prohibition); (2) a $30 million recovery in a class action against a major health insurer; and (3) substantial arbitration awards in favor of defrauded investors. As defense counsel, we have obtained numerous summary judgments dismissing claims against title companies, product manufacturers, law firms and lawyers.
-
Our willingness to try cases to judgment when trial is necessary. Our lawyers have tried over 50 matters between them, and obtained dozens of dismissals on summary judgment.
-
Our willingness to settle when the cost and risk of further litigation warrant it. We analyze cases early, rather than waiting until trial approaches. Early analysis facilitates early settlement, which, in the right circumstance, maximizes the client's net benefit.
-
Efficient and cost-effective representation. We move cases along. We do not overstaff them. We can't. We only have six lawyers. And our clients are represented by the lawyer they hire, not by the staff.
-
Our reputation and experience. Much of our new work is referred to us by other lawyers. Our lawyers have 100 years of combined experience. Our partners are each "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell and named as "Super Lawyers" by Washington Law and Politics.
As a client, you don’t hire a law firm. You hire individual lawyers. Your representation is only as good as the attorney who is doing your work.
